
Join Vox, the Prep Concert Band and the Sodality Jazz Band as they celebrate spring – not to mention the approaching end of the school year! – with a memorable evening of music this Friday, May 18. It all begins at 8 p.m. in O'Keefe Commons, and all are welcome!
Prep's faculty and staff closed out last week with a celebration of their soon-to-retire colleague, Joe Urbanovich, '65, P'00,'04. As a student for four years, a baseball coach for more than 35, and a math teacher for the past eight – not to mention a proud Prep father to three alumni – he has left his mark at Grand & Warren in six different decades, earning a reputation for persistent dedication and the respect of his players, students and colleagues at each step of the journey.
More than 30 alumni were on hand last Thursday evening at J Paul's in Georgetown, as Prep came to the nation's capital for a D.C. Happy Hour. It was a chance to catch up with fellow Washington-area alumni. New to the format for Prep's regional happy hours was the addition of the "Prep All-Stars," as faculty favorites Carl DeLorenzo, '67 and Jack Campion were on hand for the festivities.
From as far as Aberdeen, Sea Girt and Tinton Falls, 129 families representing 51 communities in 9 counties converged at Grand & Warren last Sunday for Prep's Spring Open House.
In addition to the recent National Spanish Exam accolades, this spring has brought forth a crop of honors and achievements for Prep's modern language students, including strong showings on the National Italian High School Contest Exam, an induction ceremony for the modern language honor societies and a third-place result in the Italian Language and Culture competition at Montclair State University.
