Mr. John Morris, Dean of Students: Mr. Morris governs the disciplinary aspects of student life at Saint Peter’s Prep and is responsible for enforcing Prep’s rules and standards as they apply to dress code, punctuality and general behavior. A graduate of Fordham University, Mr. Morris holds degrees in English, Philosophy, and Religious Education and has served in many capacities at local New York areas school, such as Xavier, Iona Prep and Marist. Serving at Saint Peter’s Prep since 2004, Mr. Morris is also an inaugural member of the Ignatian Leadership Academy and is committed to helping to ensure that student life at Prep is reflective of the values and principles of Jesuit education. Mr. Morris is an avid reader, former SuperLeague rugby player with Old Blue RFC, and enjoys traveling with his wife, Maria, and daughter, Emily.
Mr. Ryan Heffernan, Dean of Student Life: Mr. Heffernan provides coordination and leadership of student programming at Saint Peter’s Prep. In his role, he is chiefly responsible for developing and evaluating experiences that enhance the school community for Prep students. He joined Prep in 2006 and worked as the school’s Director of Campus Ministry until summer 2011. All of his collegiate work has taken place at Jesuit institutions. Mr. Heffernan has a bachelor’s degree in communication and history from Boston College and a master’s degree in education administration from Saint Peter’s College. He is currently pursuing his PhD in school leadership from Fordham University. Mr. Heffernan coaches the school’s water polo and swimming and diving teams.
Mr. Juan Arteaga, Assistant Dean: Mr. Arteaga is entering his first year in his role as assistant dean and his 6th year at Saint Peter’s as a member of the English department. In addition to teaching, Mr. Arteaga has also coached football and baseball and is currently also the Director of the Ignatian Scholars Program, a merit-based scholarship initiative that looks to motivate select freshmen into leadership and service roles during their time at Prep. Mr. Arteaga’s first experience with Jesuit education and Ignatian ideals came as a high school student at Fairfield Prep and continued at Saint Joseph’s University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English. He also holds a master’s degree in English education from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education.
Mr. Anthony Locricchio, '96, Assistant Dean: As an Assistant Dean in the Office of Student Life, Mr. Locricchio is involved in all facets of the day-to-day student experience, from ensuring a positive and safe learning environment to facilitating student assemblies and gatherings. A Saint Peter's Prep alumnus, he holds a B.A. in social studies from The College of New Jersey and a master's degree in educational leadership, with a concentration in supervision and administration, from Saint Peter's College. From student to coach, teacher and administrator, the 2011-2012 academic year will mark his 20th year of affiliation with the school.
Ms. Cecelia Collins, Administrative Assistant: Ms. Collins is a 13-year veteran here at Saint Peter’s Prep, most recently having served as the administrative assistant to the Office of Campus Ministry. She has previous experience in data entry and recording attendance records, coordinating the Ignite Retreat for incoming freshmen, and collecting and processing various information and documentation for many Campus Ministry programs. Ms. Collins had the yearbook dedicated to her by the students in 2009. She is very eager to embrace her new role as Secretary to the Deans and looks forward to interacting and guiding the student throughout the school year.
