The “IgNite” retreat is an overnight experience that introduces freshmen to the Jesuit mission and community of Saint Peter’s Prep. This year's retreat, held at Prep, begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 and concludes at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013. Families are invited to a Family Mass at 4:00pm on Friday, Sept 6.
The retreat’s name – IgNite – is a play on words, symbolizing how students spend the night being introduced to the beliefs and stories of Ignatius, the founder of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits). More than 40 seniors, who serve as Big Brothers to your son throughout the year, organize and lead the retreat, along with nearly three dozen teachers and administrators.
All freshmen are required to attend the “IgNite” retreat, which, in addition to acquainting students to Prep’s Jesuit traditions, also helps them come to better know themselves, their family and friends, and God.
