Following the Mass of the Holy Spirit last Friday, the opening honors convocation of the year provided an opportunity to celebrate achievements during the 2010-11 school year, while looking ahead to the opportunities of 2011-12. Honor pins and academic medals were distributed, and students were recognized for their accomplishments in language and scholarship competitions.

Continuing a tradition that dates from the earliest days of Jesuit education, when the Mass of the Holy Spirit was celebrated in Messina, Sicily in 1548, the Prep community gathered Friday morning to ask the blessings of the Spirit in all that the new school year will bring.
This Saturday, October 1, Prep Football heads to Boston for a Jesuit gridiron showdown with BC High. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m., but if you're headed to the game, don't forget to stop by the Prep Alumni tailgate to meet your fellow Marauder fans and enjoy lunch courtesy of the Prep Alumni Association. The festivities begin at noon, and we hope to see you there!
The Office of Student Life helped to kick off the new school year this week with two lunchtime events, comprising the inaugural Welcome Week. Students were invited to participate in a pie-eating contest and a "tricycle triathlon" during lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday as a way to connect or reconnect with the school community at the start of the new year.
