As the crowds at Saint Peter's Square awaited the announcement of a new pope Wednesday afternoon, a slightly smaller crowd of students at Saint Peter's Prep awaited the historic moment in O'Keefe Commons. They were rewarded for their patience, as together they witnessed the announcement and the first appearance of the first ever Jesuit pope, Pope Francis.
Last week, Deborah Maclean Glancy, P'13 kept her fellow Prep parents – past and present – laughing all evening as Prep's Alumni Parents' Association hosted the return of Prep Comedy Night!
It was a big weekend in Prep athletics...thanks to Prep Basketball for a great run; although Saint Joseph's Metuchen came away with the title, the sectional champion Marauders put up a tenacious effort and made Prep proud! In June, Ms. Ana Garcia will lead a group of students and adults from the Prep community on an adventure through "Peru, Land of the Inca." Parents and alumni are invited to join the group and discover Lima, Cuzco, Machu Picchu and more.
Among the facilities damaged by Superstorm Sandy was the B.J. Giannone, '11 Media Center located in the basement of the Moriarty Science Center. This week, Prep took another step towards full recovery as the Giannone Center's print publications lab reopened.
