More than 450 guests – mostly Prep moms, of course! – enjoyed a Prep rite of fall this past weekend, gathering for the PPA Fashion Show and Luncheon at Mayfair Farms. From the alumni moms' reception, to the hundreds of raffle baskets going home with their lucky winners, to the runway presentation featuring the Men of Prep and Sisters of Prep, it was a stylish celebration!
Five seniors, representing Prep in basketball, baseball, and crew, committed this week to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Please join us in congratulating these student athletes!
On Wednesday evening, the Alumni Spirituality Committee hosted John Sexton, author of Baseball as a Road to God: Seeing Beyond the Game, former president of New York University, and an alumnus of Jesuit education.
Fr. Eric Sundrup, S.J. – an associate editor and director of audience development for America Magazine and one of the co-founders of The Jesuit Post – visited Prep on Wednesday as part of Jesuit Vocations Month. Fr. Sundrup met with students in the library to discuss his own call to live as a Jesuit priest, and how he lives his vocation through his work at America.
The Prep community gathered in the gym Wednesday morning to celebrate the Feast of All Saints. As Fr. Tony Azzarto, S.J. pointed out, feast is a celebration not only of the canonical saints, but also of our own moments of saintliness, and of all those who have gone before us and "showed us the way" to live our lives.
