All the fun and fashion of fall...not to mention more than 200 baskets ready to meet their lucky winners...will be at Mayfair Farms this Sunday, November 15! If you'll be there too, read on for a preview of the journal and information that will help you plan your day!
The Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice, an annual advocacy gathering of students and teachers from Catholic (and predominantly Jesuit) institutions around the country, took place in Washington, D.C. last weekend. Sixteen students and four faculty members represented Prep, examining issues of injustice and the response our faith asks of us, and visiting the offices of members of New Jersey's Congressional delegation.
Please note that this weekend's Prep on the Road in Dover has been postponed due to illness on the part of our host family. We will let you know the new date when it is available. In the meantime, mark your calendars for the next Prep on the Road, which will take place December 12 at the home of the Thiele Family in Kearny. More details to follow!
Thursday was the feast of all Jesuit saints and blesseds, and a perfect opportunity to gather as a school community for Mass as Ignatian Identity Week continues. Returning to Prep as a guest celebrant for Mass was Fr. Fred Pellegrini, S.J., a former member of Prep's math department, who is currently vocation promoter for the USA Northeast province. The unseasonably warm morning allowed Mass to take place in the courtyard, with a passing shower (mostly) cooperating with the schedule.
As Prep celebrates Ignatian Identity Week, the school community gathered for an assembly on Tuesday. The six students who participated in the #2Philly4Francis pilgrimage during the Pope's visit to the United States shared their reflections on the experience, and on the uniquely Ignatian spirituality of the first Jesuit pope.
