Congratulations to the juniors and seniors who achieved honors during the first marking period!
Before parting ways for the long Thanksgiving weekend, the Prep community gathered in the gym for the annual Thanksgiving prayer service. As has been a Prep tradition for over 15 years, the service provided an opportunity to reflect on the value of gratitude through the lens of some of the diverse faith traditions within the Prep community.
Last week, Mr. Salvatore Veniero, '05 of Prep's Modern Language Department was elected for a two year term as President of the Northern New Jersey Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) during a general meeting at Cranford High School.
This Friday, after Prep Hockey faces Canisius High School in a scrimmage at the Barnabas Health Hockey House at 4 p.m., the Marauders will head next door to the Prudential Center, where the New Jersey Devils will honor their late teammate, Jeff Hoens, '17 during their game with the Detroit Red Wings at 7:30.
With the first-ever Great Ignatian Challenge now complete, the Prep community collected a total of 22,199 food items between October 18 and November 18, roughly a 600% increase over last year's Thanksgiving Food Drive and a testament to the generosity of the Prep community. The items collected at Prep will be distributed through Prep's own food pantry. In conjunction with our fellow Jesuit schools in the region, the Challenge raised a total of more than 100,000 food items for needy families.
