Prep Rowing Coach Alex Canale, '05 has been named to the USRowing Junior Lightweight Task Force, which will be responsible for drafting new policy recommendations regarding the sport's lightweight division. The group of 20 rowing experts includes just four high school coaches from around the country, and will submit its findings to the USRowing Board of Directors for review and ratification in June.
American History High School will be unable to play Prep Basketball this Saturday as planned, but the McGovern Basketball Homecoming will still take place – with a revised schedule to accommodate Prep's new opponent, North Bergen High School. The alumni scrimmage will still begin at 9, but will be followed by the lunch and reception at 11, with the varsity game tipping off at noon.
Due to a scheduling conflict, this evening's reception for alumni and parents interested in viewing the Freedom Riders exhibition in Prep's library has been cancelled. Current and alumni parents and guardians are invited to the fourth annual Parent Retreat, to be held at Jogues Retreat House in Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, Friday, March 9 through Sunday, March 11. Both singles and couples are welcome. A retreat team led by longtime Prep faculty member Sister Frances Duncan, O.S.F., will lead parents through an exploration of Ignatian Spirituality.
